This bit of
resin mayhem is a little kit called "The Change".... Sculpted
by a gentleman from the UK named Dave Lewis and produced by a good
friend of mine, Keith Cousins. The kit depicts the initial
transformation scene in the film "An American Werewolf in
London" which stars David Naughton who's big claim to fame prior to
the movie was as the Dancing guy in all the Dr. Pepper commercials ...
The sculpt is a bit rough, but I like it quite a bit. The actual casting
is superb... It's really a nice piece that shows the emotion and pain
that the character is going thru...
All the paints are Delta
Ceramcoat applied by hand with a good old fashioned paint brush.
The Flesh color is "Medium Flesh", the fur is "Dark Burnt
Umber" highlighted with "Burnt Umber". The base is
painted "Mudstone" with the name plate painted
"Burnt Sienna" and the lettering done in "black"...
I laid down three layers of light blue pastel for the veins in the legs, and three
layers of a burnt sienna for the shading on the flesh. Each layer
of pastel was sealed with dull cote before moving on to the
next. "Ivory" was used for teeth and for the nails, but
a touch of Dark Burnt umber was mixed in for the nails. Both the
teeth and nails were lightly washed with a Dark burnt Umber wash.
It was a fun kit to work
on and really looks great after a little paint and some pastel work... I
thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent on this and I'm quite pleased with the
way it turned out...
