The base was very nicely sculpted as well and provides a realistic setting straight from the film to place the figure in. There was some additional lab equipment that came with the base that while very nicely done, I chose to leave off....  There was a different base originally which incorporated Baron Frankenstein's toddler son laying sprawled on the floor and you were supposed to place the monsters left boot on him, just as depicted in the scene from the film.   Unfortunately that base was long out of production by the time I purchased this kit....

This was a fairly straightforward and simple kit to build, the parts fit was very good and painting it was very enjoyable...  Which was a blessing, being that this was only my second vinyl kit I had built...  If you don't have this one in your collection, I'd recommend you track one down, as it makes for a great  looking piece when finished...
