| The kit was
produced by Resin Pimps, the sculptor preferred to remain
anonymous.... Which is fine, many of the folks that sculpt Garage Kits
do that, so as not to have any "issues" if they are
currently sculpting for commercial companies under a license with Marvel
or DC...
At any rate this was a
really nicely sculpted kit, the likeness to the character is pretty decent, in
particular the little smirk he put on the face... True to form for the
Torch's alter ego "Johnny Storm". The kit was expertly
cast in three separate parts, the base, the left lower arm/hand and
the rest of the body as one piece. the left arm was cast in
clear resin and it made a big difference in getting the flame painted
to look as realistic as possible... Very little cleanup was
needed, other than a couple of faint mold lines to scrape, it was
pretty much ready for primer in about 20 - 30 minutes.
Again, I used all Delta
Ceramcoat Craft paints for most everything including the metallic
colors on the base... The flame was painted using Tamiya clear red and
clear yellow, cut with a bit of isopryll alcohol and it worked
great. I'm very happy with the way it turned out...
This was a Christmas
gift (X-mas 2007) for my Oldest son Greg.... He got he raw kit as the
gift, but asked me to build and paint it for him, which I agreed to
do. So it now resides on top of his entertainment center
at his apartment instead of on my display shelves.
