After spending many months of searching Ebay and other outlets, I had all but given up on finding one of these, then one day on the Clubhouse "Swap & Sell" forum A member had put his up for sale and I quickly jumped on it considering my self extremely lucky to finally have found one... There have been a few kits of the Animated Batman from the excellent Fox TV series in the early 90's but this one is by far the best in my opinion. The pose and facial expression are dead on to the artwork of animator Bruce Timm and his team of artists... Cleanup on this was practically nil... a very minor seam line and a pinhole or two. The biggest problem was having to re-sculpt the tips of the ears, as they had broken off during shipping and gotten lost... A little magic sculpt and some smoothing with water... Problem solved! Painting was pretty straightforward and very enjoyable, keeping a steady hand for most of the cutting in with a brush was the toughest part and made for slow going. But I am really pleased with the end result.... I used Delta Ceramcoat craft paints, which I have come to love and have made them my primary paints. The kit did not come with a base, the base you see below was created and produced by Charlie Dunton of CD productions and it works perfectly for this kit. |
